Bij een klassieke hospitalisatie verblijft de patiënt minstens één nacht in het ziekenhuis en wordt een verpleegdagprijs aangerekend (bedrag per opname en bedrag per dag).

De verpleegdagprijs is een forfaitair bedrag dat de kosten dekt van een verblijf en verzorging in het ziekenhuis, met uitzondering van de geneesmiddelen, de honoraria voor de verstrekkingen en de eventuele supplementen. Een groot deel van dat bedrag betaalt het ziekenfonds.

De Federale overheidsdienst Volksgezondheid (FOD VVVL) bepaalt de verpleegdagprijs. De ziekenhuizen krijgen telkens op 1 januari en 1 juli een budget toegekend door de FOD Volksgezondheid (FOD VVVL). Naast de Case-Mix Index (CMI) van de behandelde patiëntenpopulatie, worden de verschillende verpleegdagprijzen tussen ziekenhuizen bijkomend verklaard door:

• De zeven universitaire ziekenhuizen beschikken over een aparte financiering voor hun specifieke opdracht (onderzoek, opleiding en derdelijnszorg).
• Afhankelijk van de regio/gemeenschap waarvan ziekenhuizen deel uitmaken, wordt een bepaalde financiering (voor apparatuur) opgenomen in het BFM.
• Ziekenhuizen met recente nieuwbouw vallen in een hogere verpleegdagprijs dan oudere ziekenhuizen.
• Specifieke bedragen per ziekenhuis om elementen uit het verleden te corrigeren na herziening.
• Openbare ziekenhuizen beschikken over een specifieke financiering voor hun statutair personeel.
• ...

De Case-Mix Index (CMI) is een maatstaf om de complexiteit en de middelenintensiteit van de patiëntenpopulatie van een zorginstelling te beoordelen. Zwaardere pathologie en behandelingen leiden tot een hogere Case-Mix Index (vb. een harttransplantatie weegt zwaarder dan een appendectomie). Het is een numerieke waarde die het gemiddelde relatieve gewicht weergeeft van de diagnoses en procedures die binnen een bepaalde periode zijn uitgevoerd (MZG-periode).

Gebruikte afkortingen

• ZHType: A, BRA, G, IM, P, PAL of SP
• RIZIV: RIZIV nummer van het ziekenhuis
• Naam: naam van het ziekehuis
• Jaar: kalenderjaar
• Semester: eerste of tweede semester
• BPD: bedrag per dag
• DP100: dagprijs aan 100%
• DP82: dagprijs aan 82% (indien van toepassing)
• DP100_Rang: indeling van hoog naar laag, per ziekenhuistype, jaar en semester,(indien 10 groepen komt de indeling overeen met decielen)

Alle getoonde waarden zijn voor budget F.
Jaar en semester vormen een periode. De bedragen worden aan het begin van elk semester herzien.

Type ziekenhuis

De verpleegdagprijzen verschillen per type ziekenhuis:

• A - acute diensten
• BRA - brandwonden
• G - geriatrie
• IM - bedden voor geïnterneerden (enkel in het ziekenhuis "Les Marronniers")
• P - psychiatrisch ziekenhuis
• PAL - palliatieve zorg
• SP - chronische aandoeningen
